Healthy, Happy Hip Bones

Everyone's body is unique. We all have the same bones, yet we all have differences in bone structure that influence our movement and alignment. This workshop will explore variations in the pelvis and femur and analyze how those affect movement and alignment. We’ll then explore ways to assess our own hips and those of our students.

Full Description

RESOLVE: To decide or to determine to do something. To make clear, explain or solve a problem. To transform; to convert. (Funk & Wagnall’s Dictionary)

Everyone's body is unique. We all have the same bones, yet we all have differences in bone structure that influence our movement and alignment.

Sometimes these differences are readily apparent as in the length of one’s limbs. Sometimes bone structure is well concealed, never fully visible except by x-ray.

The bones that make up the hip joint are among those that can be deeply hidden.

This workshop will explore variations in the pelvis and femur and analyze how those affect movement and alignment. We’ll then explore ways to assess our own hips and those of our students. Finally, we’ll utilize props and/or adjustments to accommodate the uniqueness that we all bring to our practice.
