Join Neva into discovering practices to bring balance of flexibility and strength to the hips. In Yoga and other healing systems, the pelvic area represents the water element and the subconscious. It is an area of power easily suppressed as well as a place we store unresolved traumas from the past. In other words, the freedom of the hips can unlock a tremendous resource of personal power.
With awareness and ahimsa (compassionate attention) we move and breathe into this power, coaxing a letting go of stuckness. Find your inner strength, grounding, flow, sensuality, creativity and joyful expression, on and off the mat.
We need to be grounded in stillness, yet moving into further intensity for deeper union with our soul essence.
Moving with awareness into the areas of stuckness, can facilitate a healing process and make available e resource of great power and creative potential.
The hips ground us. We need to be grounded in order to fly.
Practice will include:
Creating a safe space.
Understanding hip and pelvic alignment
The chakras of the pelvis
The Bandhas and how they help us gain healthy hips
Fluid creative asana flow to unlock the power of the hips
Restorative hip openers
