QuietNorth’s Iceland Yoga Retreat combines daily yoga, relaxation and meditation practice with spas and outdoor activities.

We will stay in a villa on the banks of the Varmá River on the edge of Hveragerði, Iceland. Hveragerði is the geothermal capital of South Iceland. It’s a small town 45 km east of Reykjavík. Pillars of steam rise from the many natural hot springs in and around the town.

The villa is across the river from the NLFI Spa and Clinic and a short walk to the Laugaskard swimming pool, an Olympic sized outdoor pool with steam room and hot tubs.

Instructor and retreat leader
Aidan Tierney has been teaching yoga for over 10 years. Based in Toronto, he has taught classes Ontario, Quebec, Barcelona, and Chennai. He teaches weekly yoga classes and urban yoga retreats in Toronto for QuietNorth and regularly teaches at the Sivananda Centre in Toronto. Aidan is a Yoga Alliance Experienced Registered Yoga Teacher E-RYT 500.

Food
Three meals per day.
- Breakfast will be a light, buffet style featuring fruits, skyr, bread, cereals, juices and hot drinks.
- Lunch will be at the restaurant of the NLFI Spa and Clinic.
- Dinner will be at the villa.
We will do our best to accommodate food allergies and preferences. Please advise us well in advance.

Activities
The retreat includes two planned trips with a local guide from Iceland Activities. A hike to hot springs and a bike trip. Guides are very experienced at matching the level of the activity to the participants’ abilities.

- 8 days/ 7 nights accommodation
- 3 meals per day (breakfast only on final day)
- Daily yoga classes, training sessions on breathing and relaxation techniques, and an introduction to meditation
