The phenomenal world comprised of the 5 Great Elements and Consciousness is a continuous dance of creation, maintenance and dissolution. These cycles reflect the elements as they commingle in unimaginable combinations to manifest the fluid unfoldment of existence. Our individuality, unique character, likes and dislikes, habits and preferences are all related to the 5 elements. Fluctuations in mood, health, sleep habits, interests and relationships are responses to the elements as they morph through time and space. Out of balance, the elements and their specific attributes can create inertia, overwhelm, anxiety, or excessive drive and thus, diminish our sense of well being. As we learn to consciously engage the elements we begin to see how we are creating an excess or deficit in our constitution through daily habits. This is where healing begins.
The tools of yoga allow us to realign the elements from within. Ayurveda lends its wisdom as a way to see and live the middle path. Specific practices of asana, pranayama, marma, and bija mantra reset our template to the present moment. The wisdom from these traditions allow us to sustain a life in balance.
