Do you want to have less stress and more compassion for yourself and others through the holidays and beyond? Try mindfulness meditation for yourself in this four week course. Don’t worry – you do not need to be calm or able to “shut off your mind” to enjoy Mindfulness. Monkey minds are welcome!

During this four-week Introduction to Mindfulness Meditation course, you will learn basic mindfulness techniques and discuss how they can reduce your stress and increase compassion. In addition to feeling better, your body will be better equipped to fight off illness. Your mind can be trained, and it is easier than you think!

Mindfulness, simply put, is the practice of paying attention to the present moment, on purpose, and with compassion. Since most of our stress comes from worrying about the past or the future, focusing on the present gives our mind a chance to rest. It also has numerous health benefits – proven time and time again in scientific and medical settings.

Each week you will receive a handout summarizing the week’s theme, plus guided meditations to help support your new practice. Participants are encouraged to practice between classes to experience the physical and emotional benefits of mindfulness meditation.
