The bare essentials of what goes on in a yoga class will be shared in a less-is-more and collaborative way – kicking-off your journey with a level of clarity, fascination, and confidence. From 9 am to 2 pm, this 5-hour workshop covers key philosophy, basic asanas, alignment, pranayama, mantras and mudras through the perspectives of ritual and the Chakra System, and how they all tie together in a class practice. It includes a 45-minute break. It is held in a safe and casual studio environment complete with props at Yoga Barn, Bali.

Full Description

This 5-hour workshop covers the following topics:

Yoga history, styles, and poses: A start.
An introduction to yoga philosophy and styles is followed by a collaborative study of 15 poses commonly found in yoga classes, incorporating key breathing practices.

Energetics: A glance.
Essential mantras (chant) and mudras (hand gestures) will be practiced and viewed through the perspective of ritual and the Chakra system (energy centers).

Being in class: A practice.
A sharing on general expectations and attitudes of being in a yoga class followed by a 60-minute practice, wrapping up everything we’ve learned.

Instructor's Bio:
Helvi Lystiani (Estee), began her yoga journey in 2003 through the help of a back injury. Estee’s desired outcome is to support first-time yogis kick-off their yoga journeys with clarity, fascination, and confidence.

In Ubud, she is often found writing, eating, singing, dancing, project-making. Estee holds a 200-hour certificate from One Song Yoga TT by Denise Payne ().
