Jivamukti yoga is a playful, challenging flow yoga that will take your yoga practice to a new level. This ever-popular jivamukti yoga retreat includes vinyasa (flowing asana sequences), hands-on adjustments, pranayama, restorative classes, theory, meditation, guided chanting (don’t worry, it’s fun!) and deep relaxation. To keep the practice inspiring, asana sequences are ever-changing with music playing an integral role in the class. Jivamukti is both physical and spiritual, giving an all-round experience for body, mind and soul.
Led by Andrea Everingham, this is an unmissable opportunity to learn from one of Jivamukti's most talented instructors. Andrea gives wonderful adjustments and support for practitioners at all levels, so you will really feel your yoga advance during this week. Her teaching style is dedicated, passionate, hand-on, high energy and very fun - a laugh is never far away in her classes. The effect is uplifting, opening and exhilarating. She balances this with wonderful yin classes and yoga therapy that allows you to let go and drift into deep relaxation, giving your body and mind time to reconnect and restore.
This week takes place at the beautiful Villa Azul retreat where you will be warmly welcomed by Andrea and our caring team of wellbeing professionals and therapists.
The villa is beautifully situated nestled amongst the volcanoes with views to the sea and neighbouring islands and it has been designed and decorated with love and care, to make sure you have the best facilities and environment for a wellbeing break. Enjoy the specially crafted yoga shala for your yoga practice and take some time for yourself in between classes, relaxing by the pool or in one of the comfy chillout areas or breezy terraces. Feel yourself unwind under the expert hands of our massage therapist with your inclusive full-body massage. For the ultimate wellbeing break you can book additional treatments, including reiki and ayurvedic therapies.
There is a wide choice of accommodation at the villa, something for every taste and budget. Treat yourself to the luxury of the spacious Moroccan Suite, get close to nature in the gardin cabin, make new friends in the sociable Canarias apartment, gaze at the views from the Santa Fe room… whichever you choose you can rest your head in comfort, with the yoga shala just steps away. After the morning session you will be greeted by a delicious breakfast laid out for you. Everything is homemade with love by our retreat chef and nutrition advisor, Jo Dombernowsky. With options including fruit salad, porridge, wholemeal muesli, sprouted rye bread, tahini and hummus you will fuel your body with an abundance of nutrients and enjoy a leisurely breakfast with your fellow yogis.
Dinner will delight and inspire you with vibrant vegetarian cooking. There are lots of different dishes to try with Morrocan, Canarian and Indian inspired flavours, using plenty of fresh herbs, organic vegetables and creative combinations so your tastebuds will be tantalised and your belly happy. The retreat food is so popular it is now available as a cookbook and you have the opportunity to learn more about cooking and nutrition in a fun and highly recommended workshop with the inspirational Jo.
In between classes, therapies and food you can simply relax around the pool, swim in the sea, soak up the rays at the beach, go surfing, have a horseriding lesson, rent a bike, go on a volcano walk, explore the island, chat to your fellow retreat guests or bury yourself in a good book – do as much or as little as you like, it’s entirely up to you!
