Full Description

Shantarasa Yoga Level 1 Teacher Training offers a unique platform of depth into the essential principles and practices that become a basic foundation of teacher education. This approach is designed to develop teachers guided by their own informed commitment to an evolving personal journey with yoga as life path and practice. When Hatha Yoga is studied and applied in the fullness of the overarching foundational context of Yoga its potentials are maximized. The Australian Training programs use a modular format, that are conducted over five 4-day modules and can all be taken in Adelaide or in conjunction with modules in other states, offering maximum flexibility to fit with your schedule. The program steeps students for the duration in an environment of focused practice and training. Students emerge with a well developed capacity to sustain a transformative personal practice and an ability to facilitate the experience for others. The daily schedule includes asana sessions and clinics, study and interactive sessions with various media presentations. The course is extended with online study components and with feedback and mentoring as teaching, practicum and personal practice skills are developed. Level 1 Study and Training covers the origins of yoga, its foundational philosophies and traditions, basic yoga psychology, basics of asana training that includes applied physical and subtle anatomy and physiology, traditional orientations to safe practice, introduction to pranayama, establishing an easeful meditation practice and the 7 stages of self inquiry, training in making safe adjustments, honing of communication skills, ethics and teacher/student dynamics.
