Liberate the Heart is a 3-day spiritual retreat for women featuring yoga, meditation, ritual and more in a beautiful Hill Country setting. This healing weekend takes place Friday 2/13 - Sunday 2/15, 2015.
The retreat cost includes yoga, lodging and delicious and healthy vegetarian meals. This retreat is limited to 20 women!

Liberate the Heart is a chance to wrap yourself in kindness and compassion. A special “time outside of time” to reflect, recharge and be inspired. Curious? Here’s a peek at what’s in store for our weekend…
Sankalpa Creation: Sankalpa is your deepest, most heartfelt wish or desire. After you arrive and get settled on the land, our team of teachers will be on hand to share afternoon tea and help you create an intention or affirmation for the weekend. We’ll write or draw our sankalpas to use in a special ceremony later in the evening.
Opening Circle and Fire Ceremony: Our delicious dinner will be provided by a chef graduate from the Natural Epicurean Culinary Institute. Then we’ll start the weekend by coming together full circle to create a group altar, building energy through chant and sound. An outdoor fire on sacred land (weather permitting) serves as the focal point for a powerful ritual to activate your sankalpa on the physical and metaphysical planes.
Viniyoga-Style Hatha: Our morning begins with a dynamic Hatha yoga class that will incorporate movement, Pranayama (breathwork), the Gayatri mantra, and heart-centered meditation to explore the mind/heart connection and further clarify your intention for our work together over the course of the weekend.
Yoga Nidra: Yoga Nidra translates to “yogic sleep” in which the body goes to sleep and the mind remains alert. At the beginning of this session you'll be asked to focus on your sankalpa, and then be verbally guided through a 30-45 minute practice in savasana. We’ll follow up our Yoga Nidra with time spent in silence to allow you to reflect upon and process your experience.

Gemstone Meanings and Malas: A mala is a simple, sacred and effective meditative tool which helps reduce stress and enhance wisdom, patience and health. After enjoying a nourishing vegetarian lunch, we'll learn from Rebecca how to choose and use a gemstone mala to complement your yoga practice and life. We’ll take a short break to allow participants time to shop for malas on site. When we reconvene, Jenny will lead us in a mala meditation and gong relaxation.
Bhuvaneshwari, Goddess of Infinite Space and Worldly Embodiment: Divine Mother, Lady of All Worlds, Heart of All Hearts ... these are but a few of the appellations of the yoga goddess Bhuvaneshwari. It is said that all of reality is a flowering of Bhuvaneshwari's nature, and all beings are the ornaments upon her infinite body. After dinner, listen to tales of Bhuvaneshwari and experience Her presence in the density of the manifest world, the vast and deep void, and all spaces in between. Storytelling, mantra and guided vision journey provide an imaginative, alchemical close to our evening.
Finding Your Inner Being Through Conscious Communication: We’ll use Kundalini yoga techniques and creative expression to get in touch with the feelings and images we hold within four main parts of our Self: the Real Self, the Shadow Self, the Hidden Self, and the Imaginary Personality. In this session you will find that there are no “right” or “wrong” images … but by meditating on the images and/or words you create for each part of the Self, you can begin to communicate with your mind and understand its subconscious processes.
Closing Circle: We’ll come together full circle once again before heading home. You’ll leave the retreat feeling refreshed and invigorated … and having met a group of amazing women to share and support your continuing journey!
Retreat cost is $385 (Early Registration price is $350 UNTIL January 15, 2015). A non-refundable $100 deposit will reserve your space, with remainder due by February 1, 2015. Retreat cost includes all activities, lodging and delicious and healthy vegetarian meals.

Journey Women is comprised of Ana Pilar Cruz, Jenny E. Orona, Rebecca G. Risher and Jamie Michelle Waggoner. All Journey Women teachers carry 200hr and/or 500hr certifications in the yoga styles they teach, in addition to many years of combined experience as facilitators, community leaders, and practicing artists and healers.
