Speaker: Raj Balkaran, PhD.
Raj Balkaran, PhD, is a scholar and educator in the area of ancient mythology. His research focuses on Ancient India’s Great Goddess tradition. In addition to rigorous academic work, Raj has been engaged in his own process of active personal and spiritual development over the past decade; he therefore speaks from embodied experience. He currently teaches at the University of Toronto’s School of Continuing Studies, and at the KASYAPA Institute where he brings ancient wisdom teachings to life through expert explication, and spirited application to modern life. World mythologies, for Raj, hold tremendous insight on the working of human beings, relationships, and the art of navigating life’s colourful junctures. They serve as instruments of empowerment and resources for acquiring a state of wellness. In addition to academic lectures and conference presentations, Raj does a great deal of public engagement, speaking on areas of health and wellness, balance, and fulfillment.
