Living in Light through the Eight Limbs of Yoga

Satya Yoga Center, will be hosting Swami Kashi at our studio on Friday evening May 13th, and Saturday and Sunday May 14th and 15th.
Swami Kashi is a Western India Swami (monk), who has been living in the Himalayas of India and Sivananda ashrams for the past 15 years.

Title: Living in Light through the Eight Limbs of Yoga

Yogi practices go beyond the popular Asana (posture) classes. This workshop will clarify for practitioners the other valuable practices outlined by Patanjali in the second chapter Sadhana Pada of the ancient text 'The Yoga Sutras'. Over the 3 days we will explore the eight limbs of yoga as they apply to householder practitioners.

Friday evening 7-9pm - Opening discussion - Living in Light - Meaning behind a Yogi lifestyle (Donations to Swami Kashi’s Heart Pilgrimage would be greatly appreciated)

Saturday 8am-4pm - Living in Light - The external practices $100 plus HST

Sunday - 8am-4pm - Living in Light - The internal practices $100 plus HST

**Saturday and Sunday together $175 plus HST vegetarian lunch included on both days

Saturday - External Practices
7:30am - Morning meditation (optional)
8:00am - Asana practice
9:30am - Break
10:00-12:00 - Restraints (Yama's) and Obsrvances ( Niyama's)
12:00 - Lunch and walk
1:00-3:00 - Steady postures (Asanas) and Breath control (Pranayama)
3:00 - 4:00 Pranayama practice and meditation

Sunday - Internal Practices
7:30am - Morning meditation (optional)
8:00am - Asana Practice
9:30am - Break
10:00 - 12:00 - Withdrawal of the senses (Pratyahara) and Concentration (Dharana)
12:00 - Lunch and walk
1:00-3:00 - Meditation (Meditation) and Samadhi (Spiritual Absorption)
3:00 - 4:00 Pranayama practice and meditation
