I Grow Chicago’s mission is to provide a safe, inter-generational haven to children and at-risk community members. Through sustainable farming and educational programs in nutrition, movement yoga and the arts, we foster creativity, wellness and empowerment for individuals in the community as a whole.
Loving-Kindness meditation focuses on developing feelings of goodwill, kindness and warmth towards others. We begin with our self and gradually extend the wish for well-being happiness to all beings. Loving-Kindness is a meditation practice which brings about positive attitudinal changes as it systematically develops the quality of "loving-acceptance". The ways to bring about feelings of loving-kindness: *by visualization, *by reflection, * auditory or by repeating an internalized mantra. Just a few of the many benefits that come with the practice can include: well-being, healing, stress reduction and social connectedness.
