Full Description

Autumn Adams, Yoga Alliance registered yoga instructor and owner of Ambuja Yoga, will be leading the yoga classes at Green Gables Inn. Morning class will be an invigorating alignment based hatha-vinyasa practice to awaken the body and senses, improve flexibility, endurance and strength. Autumn’s style of instruction is patient and clear and her hands on adjustments are “spot on”.

Evening classes will be a quiet and restorative practice that ends with a guided yoga nidra “yogic sleep.” Yoga nidra is a guided deep relaxation technique that guides the student into the subconscious and unconscious parts of the mind; it is an excellent tool for healing and restoration. This is a wonderful yoga practice to end the day as you recall to mind cycling beautiful wine country and reflect on a day well lived.

What was once rolling hills of farmland and wheat has now become a mecca for road cyclists and wine connoisseurs with stunning vistas and beautiful vineyards. Cycle guide Stephanie Olson will lead the group on an approximately 20 mile* ride each day leaving from Green Gables Inn and heading out of town through rolling hills of farmland and vineyards where we will enjoy tours of some of Walla Walla’s most sought after wineries, taste a little wine, and then continue on completing a loop and returning to Green Gables Inn in time for our late afternoon post cycling yoga practice. A reasonable level of fitness is required, but beginner cyclists are welcome.

Our summer Cycling and Yoga Retreat in Wine Country is held at the Green Gables Inn in Walla Walla. The Inn is located near Whitman College and is a short cycle or walk to downtown shops and tasting rooms. The historic Green Gables Inn was originally built in 1909 and seamlessly combines all of the charms of its history with all of the modern amenities we’ve come to expect. Innkeeper Alexis Buckley and Chef Andi Bughi-Johnson do a fabulous job making sure each guest feels special. Be prepared to be spoiled; Chef Andi is known for creating excellent meals. Our alfresco dinners will be gourmet multi-course affairs full of locally sourced, healthy ingredients.

Reservations and Payment Policy

A 50% deposit holds your place for this retreat. Final payment must be received by July 22, 2016. Ambuja Yoga currently accepts Certified Cheques, Paypal, Square and Cash or Check (local payments only). Reserve your space today!

Cancellation Policy

The deposit amount is refundable until May 15, 2016 less any associated bank fees. After May 15, 2015 the deposit becomes non-refundable. However, if you can fill your space your deposit may be transferred to another individual.

If written Notice of Cancellation is received between May 16, 2016 and June 15, 2016 the refund amount will be as follows: amount paid less bank fees (if applicable) less non-refundable deposit less $100 office fee.

If written Notice of Cancellation is received after June 15, 2016 there will be no refund granted.

If Ambuja Yoga must cancel the retreat due to illness, death, or extenuating circumstances 100% of money paid to Ambuja Yoga will be refunded within 30 days of retreat cancellation. Ambuja Yoga is not responsible for guest’s costs & expenses incurred in preparation for any canceled trips.

Are tips and gratuities included?
Gratuity is included for Green Gables Inn staff.

Do I need to bring yoga props?
No, you do not need to bring yoga props. You may however choose to bring your own yoga mat or mat towel. Ambuja Yoga will provide enough mats, blocks, straps and blankets for the entire group.

Weather in Walla Walla. What’s it like in August?
July through September is the best time in the Pacific Northwest with long sunny days. During August the average daytime high temperature ranges between 84°F & 91°F and the average nighttime low ranges from 56°F to 63°F.

Is Wifi available?
Yes, Wifi is available throughout the Inn.

Money and Credit Cards
You may want to bring cash and/or other means of payment to pay for wine tasting or any other extras. Ambuja Yoga will be able to accept Cash, Check and Square payments for onsite payment for private yoga ($65/hr)

I’m new to yoga and I don’t know much about cycling; is this retreat appropriate for me?
This retreat does require a moderate level of fitness. During yoga classes modifications will be offered to make postures more accessible or more challenging depending on individual needs. Our cycling routes are friendly for all levels on mostly paved roads (plan on cycling a minimum of 13 miles on both Saturday and Sunday). As with all of my retreats you can participate in as little or as much as you would like.
