This is a workshop in two parts. First we learn to sit and practice the conscious state of awareness & mindfulness that will help lead us to a state of relaxation and stillness.

In the second part of the workshop, we will completely release and let go in Yoga Nidra as we are guided to surrender to a deep state of relaxation that will restore and nourish

Meditation is well researched and documented to reduce stress, release worry and promote better sleep. To sit in Meditation is to make time for self, be in stillness and reconnect to the peace that is inherent within. This releases the outer states of worry and tension and prevents the build-up of stress and dis-ease. In this relaxed state, a great sense of wellbeing, serenity and contentment can be experienced which when developed over time, is a state that pervades and underlies all emotional states. In this workshop we will lay firm foundations for developing a meditation practice to incorporate into daily living.

Yoga Nidra
The restorative practice of Yoga Nidra is based upon the ancient Tantric practice called Nyasa. This is pure effortless restorative relaxation! Lying down on your back supported by props to be completely comfortable, you are guided in the rotation of awareness around the body. A variety of techniques can include visualisation, positive affirmation and body scanning to aid relaxation. This leads the mind into the Alpha state of consciousness also known as the hypnogogic state, which is the feeling of drowsiness just before you fall asleep. In Yoga Nidra the intention is to remain in this state for a period of time that promotes healing, releases pain and discomfort, and to feel deeply relaxed on all levels of being

Yoga Nidra has a profound transformative effect as feelings of stress simply melt away and time virtually stops still. Afterwards there is a lightness of being that is felt in mind, body and spirit. You will leave feeling relaxed, refreshed, and in harmony with yourself and the universe!
