We are honoured to be hosting Servaas Mes, founding director of The Human Health Project in Smithers! This workshop is held over 2 days with the option to attend one day or both. These classes contemplate the foundations of human movement and how they fit into your daily yoga practice at all levels.

Mobilizing Awareness® Revisiting Thomas Hanna’s Classic Cat Stretch - An invitation to experience your body from within bringing awareness to breath, movement and the sensation of our bodies presence. In this class we will explore the movement patterns that make up Thomas Hanna’s (founder of the field of Somatics) Classic Cat Stretch. We will close our day together in a silent somatic self reflection.

The intention of this class is to offer the space to investigate movement patterns that can easily develop into a rejuvenating and restorative regular practice. The Somatic Cat Stretch, as taught by Servaas, can be intuitively performed in a sequence or in individual parts however your personal needs may desire.

Mobilizing Awareness® Fundamental Movement Patterns - An invitation to experience your body from within bringing awareness to breath, movement, the sensation of our bodies presence and the power of grounding. In this class we will explore the intuitive intelligence of the foundational movements that brings us from
lying, to sitting, to standing and to walking. We will close our day together in a silent somatic self reflection.

The intention of this class is to offer a subtle reminder to our bodies to activate the intrinsic movement patterns that are hardwired into your very own intelligence since conception. Through an awareness in grounding, these movements patterns support the development of positive characteristics of the aging process and nurture our health in all directions.
