Full Description

Morning raves are popping up all over the globe, and we’re bringing them back to Vancouver, but with a twist…
We’ll start the morning slow and quiet, come in and get settled for an early morning meditation session. Then we will start to pick things up with a flow style energizing yoga class, coming to a peak after 75 minutes of sweaty build up blasting you into an all out dance party. The whole event will include live music by DJ Van Andreas and will be live painted by local artist Jared Washam. Bright colors are definitely encouraged, as well as hoops, poi, juggling props and whatever else you’d like to bring that’s playful and fun!

So here’s the twist, with your ticket yes you get the great experience of a morning yoga rave, but in addition to opening the body with movement we will nourish your body with food and drinks. Every single ingredient will be organic and carefully selected from some of our favorite local farmers around the Lower Mainland, Fraser and Similkameen Valleys! Using yoga to connect body and mind and a nourishing boost to connect people to locally sourced food.

Food by Klippers Organic Acres, Forstbauer Family Natural Food Farm, Cedar Isle Farms & Vancouver Food Pedalers Cooperative

**Kids are welcome to come (for half price)**

Bicycle parking available inside, car parking available nearby.

Yoga by Hillary Mastrodicasa Yoga
Hillary was originally introduced to yoga in 2013 while living in Cusco, Peru. Flash forward to Vancouver a few years later, a yoga teacher and local food enthusiast, when she’s not on the mat she’s usually in the kitchen, her garden or playing in the mountains. An aspiring homesteader she’s very passionate about local food and wants to share with you what she knows about the many hard working farmers who bring their produce to Vancouver markets week after week, which is why she made it a priority to make sure everything at this event came directly from local farmers. This way you can guarantee part of the ticket you purchased is going to support your local economy, and how cool is that!

Music by Van Andreas
Teo Van Raalte has been a lover of music since an early age. He grew up listening to his family’s old rock and jazz records. In high school he developed a love of hip hop and rap, mostly due to the emphasis on the low frequencies. Nowadays he doesn’t limit himself to any one genre, but specializes in the deep and smooth styles that make you feel. An avid slackliner, he knows how to bring balance and presence on and off the dance floor. Expect to be taken on an evolving journey through sound.

Art by Jared Washam
Rooted in the techniques and traditions of street art, Jared’s work aims at themes of balance, ephemerality and the collaboration between doer and observer. Inspired by Asian paper-cuts, contemporary typography, graf culture and digital flaws like glitches and pixelation, he creates a space for observation of the contemporary experience we all currently share; an opportunity to look around corners, behind layers and through the veil.
