Meditation is a specific set of techniques that encourage an enhanced state of awareness and one-pointed attention. Consistent practice can reduce stress, decrease anxiety, promote emotional health, reduce age-related memory loss, and much more. Meditation is not a part of any religion; it is a science, which means that the process of meditation follows a particular order, has definite principles, and produces results that can be verified.
In this workshop, students will first learn how to prepare their body, breath, and mind for successful meditation. Then, four diverse meditation techniques will be discussed and practiced. This is an opportunity to learn about the history of each meditation, choose which meditation is right for you, and answer any questions that you might have about the practice of meditation.
