Nature & Yoga Retreat in Iceland
NATURE & YOGA RETREAT ICELAND OVERVIEW
Experience some of Iceland’s natural highlights, bathe outdoors in volcanically heated rivers and pools, go on adventures and restore body and mind with yoga and meditation classes.
During this week-long yoga retreat in Iceland we will get up close and personal to the island’s magnificent natural wonders like glaciers, hot springs, waterfalls and beaches. To see as much of Iceland as possible, we will be moving around the island by private transport.

Since the Nature & Yoga Retreat Iceland is a moving retreat, we will be staying in 4 different accommodations. All hotels have been hand-picked by me personally, ensuring a high level of comfort, as well as superb locations to explore the island from. Although many buildings in Iceland are quite unassuming, our venues have comfortable, clean and modern rooms. All rooms can be booked as twins (shared occupancy) or doubles (for couples) and have private bathrooms.
Upon arrival we will check in to the Blue Lagoon Clinic Hotel, where you get to use the facilities immediately to rejuvenate from your travels. Set in the heart of a stunning lava landscape, Blue Lagoon Clinic hotel is just ten minutes’ walk from Blue Lagoon. In addition, the hotel offers its own private bathing lagoon, available only to guests at certain hours of the day. Blue Lagoon Clinic Hotel has won several design awards. Built in harmony with the surrounding landscape, it offers an oasis of calm, relaxation and healing.
The next two nights we will spend in Vik, a small town in an absolutely stunning location at some of the world’s most beautiful black sandy beaches with a dramatic backdrop of rock cliffs (some are said to be former trolls!). Our hotel here is family owned and used to be a school for farmers children in the area. The building has been lovingly restored by the owners themselves and now makes an excellent B&B style hotel.
After Vik, we will move to the Snaefellsnes Peninsula, where we will stay at another small and comfortable hotel. The area here is of magnificent natural beauty and our venue makes for a great starting point to explore the peninsula further. The hotel has an excellent restaurant and café where we can enjoy some relaxing evenings and free time.
Our last day we will spend in Reykjavik. This small capital city is both traditional and modern. Our accommodation here is in walking distance of the center and all the main points of interest.
Your Nature & Yoga Retreat Iceland includes:

YOGA AND MEDITATION
The mornings start with a guided yoga practice to warm up, energize and set a positive tone for the day of activities ahead. Whether you are an experienced yoga practitioner or fairly new to the practice, classes aim to provide both a challenge and a certain level of comfort for all who are attending. Mirella’s classes are inspired by the Hatha and Vinyasa traditions. Her sequence will lead you through a gentle flow that combines dynamic movement with longer holds, both strengthening the body and relaxing the mind.
We end the day with a meditative practice, either a seated meditation session, a restorative yoga class or another mindful activity like walking, watching the starts or gathering around a campfire.
The yoga schedule can vary slightly depending on the daily program, allowing the best times for excursions. This means some days we skip a morning class and have a longer afternoon session.
FOOD AND NUTRITION
Breakfast is included daily and is offered by our hotels and consists of a selection of fresh breads, jams, fruit, egg, cereal, warm oats, juice and tea with plenty of options for vegetarians and vegans.
Lunches, also included, will be held in restaurants or on some days we will take a packed lunch. One special lunch in Reykjavik is included in the countries most famous Vegetarian restaurant (that also offers raw, vegan and meat options).
Dinners are a-la-carte and not included in this retreat. You are free to explore a restaurant on your own, or to join me to some handpicked favorite restaurants. We do offer a welcome dinner on the first night of the retreat.
Arrival day: Pick-up from the airport. After check-in to the Blue Lagoon Clinic hotel you are free to use the Blue Lagoon facilities. In the evening we will have our welcome dinner in the Lava Restaurant.
After breakfast we will drive to Hveragerdi from where we will start our hike to a hot river. This is a 90 min walk up the hills will be rewarded by a chance to bathe in all natural hot water, a really unique experience! We will hike back down and have lunch at Iceland’s oldest Spa, after which we will use the facilities and get treated to a mud bath. We spend the night in Vik.
Today is a long day, as we will drive up to Vatnajokull, the largest glacier in Iceland. Our guide will take us for a walk on the ice, which allows us to come close to some beautiful caves and blue ice formations. In the afternoon we go for a boat ride on a glacier lagoon, a real natural phenomenon!
In the morning we take our time to enjoy a walk to the black sandy beaches of Vik and a visit to Iceland’s oldest outdoor pool. A real hidden gem, this pool has naturally warmed water and doesn’t get visited by the crowds. Afterwards we will drive to the Snaefellsnes Penninsula. We end the day with a gentle yoga and meditation practice.
The day starts with an energizing yoga class, followed by a healthy breakfast. There is some free time today or a chance to go on a short hike. Lunch is served at the hotel. In the afternoon we will head out by boat to spot some whales or dolphins. After dinner we will end the day with a gentle yoga/meditation session.
One of my personal favorites! After our morning yoga class, you can experience riding the beautiful and gentle Icelandic horse on the beaches of the Snaefellsnes Penninsula. Suitable for any level of experience, this is one of the best ways to enjoy the outdoors of Iceland. There is plenty of free time, as well as an option to do a hike fin the morning. In the evening we will stretch the hips and leg muscles in a restorative yoga and meditation session.
After breakfast we make our way to Reykjavik. Today you will have plenty of time to enjoy this lovely small city. Visit a museum, stroll along the harbor or shop for some Icelandic wool. We will do a late lunch at Glo restaurant, a wonderful little place that offers amazing healthy vegetarian, vegan and raw food (with a meat option too) and desserts.

This is a small and exclusive retreat that accommodates 10 guests maximum.
Prices are based on shared occupancy in twin or double rooms with private bathroom facilities in small, hand-picked quality hotels. Breakfast and lunches are included, as well as a welcome dinner.
The rates include excursions; access to spas, pools and thermal baths, glacier tours, horse ride, whale watching, hikes, and everything mentioned in the ‘included’ list above.
