Plan Be.

typical day Up early at 7am because you slept 8 hours. Drink a large glass or two of the Valser water then open the door and step out onto your balcony. Breathe in the crisp, pure air. Move on to the thermal baths, a daily bathing ritual before our yoga practices. In the yoga room, with a stunning vista of the southern slopes start your yogic practice : a combination of gentle then dynamic asanas, breathwork and meditation.

Brunch is a joyous moment to break the morning silence, share the meal and yourself : taking the time to savour the food and drink as well as the company. Afterwards, a time to be alone, journaling, reading or relaxing in the Blue Lounge.

The early afternoon is slated for outside winter fun : nordic walking along the alpine paths, sledding down the snow trails or if you prefer take the to the slopes for half days alpine skiing! Afterwards we return to the Therme for bathing, yoga nidra practice and meditation.

The precious thermal waters of Vals are an important element in our week as this water re-mineralizes the physical body and soothes the mind. There are three nights of (optional) silent midnight bathing in the Therme--an experience not to be missed: under the stars, floating in the outside bath, the body warm and the air cold, living and being in silent celebration.

Working all of our activities under the banner of Plan Be-ing we become grounded, understanding the importance of being present in our bodies and rediscovering our capacity to live in the present moment. Key activity: twice daily guided meditation to jumpstart your own home practice. Finally, time for just doing nothing—only being. Listen to oneself and learn to take time tuning one’s inner awareness to the moment, mindfully.

Plan Be
with Holly Niemela, International Well-Being consultant,yoga and meditation teacher in the Satyananda/Bihar yoga tradition. Holly has studied yoga and mind/body therapies in India, Europe and the United States. She is a Mindfulness/MBSR instructor trained by the Center for Mindfulness at UMASS in the USA and member of the Association of the Developement of Mindfulness (ADM) in France. Through her keen intuition, joyful nature and positive outlook on life she has been guiding others on their paths to self-discovery and awakening for over 25 years and the last 8 years in Vals !

Vals is approximately 2.5 hours by train from Zurich (airport or main train station) to Illanz and then a quick bus ride up the mountain pass to Vals.

Plan Be typical retreat schedule:

15/1 17h : reception Blue Lounge, tour, thermal bath, meditation and dinner. Option Midnight bathing.
General Hours during the week 16/1 - 20/1
7h30-9h30 : thermal baths, yoga and meditation
9h30 : brunch
11h30-12h30 : daily teaching
13h-16h : outdoor winter cardio training* (1 afternoon free to do as you like !)
17h-19h00 : thermal baths, yoga nidra, and meditation 19h30 : dinner
Note : Midnight bathing option on Wed, Thursday and Sunday evenings
21/1 8h30 :last group meditation, 9h30 brunch, 11h check out.

*Participants should be in good health, capable of walking at a brisk pace for 2 hours. Our outdoor activities will be hiking alpine paths and sledding. It is possible to do half day alpine skiing instead of the other outdoor activities proposed, The additional costs for ski pass, rentals etc are your responsibility.
