Pregnancy Yoga and Hypnobirthing Retreat
By Well Woman Retreats

Take some time for you before your new chapter as a mother begins. Becoming a mother for the first, second or even third time is a wonderful, lifechanging experience that, let’s face it, can be challenging! Feel rested, content and energised so that you can begin your journey as a new mum being the very best version of you with confidence and without judgement.

Let us nurture and nourish you within the grounds of a luxury, state-of-the-art, purpose built Wellbeing Centre set in a 3000 acre sanctuary of beautiful natural landscape, dedicated to transformational work and the art of being. A place where you can truly connect with yourself, your body and your baby.

Pregnancy can be an overwhelming time, whether doing it for the first time or not, every time is different. Join Cristal and Catharine — two experienced teachers within the field of women’s health and wellbeing, and move to ease your changing body. Learn to breathe for relaxation and find a positive mindset with Hypnobirthing to birth without fear and gain the tools you need for selfcare in those early weeks of becoming a mother.

During the retreat you will experience a variety of practises, such as Pregnancy Yoga, Pre-natal Pilates, Yoga Nidra and Hypnobirthing, that will leave you feeling physically, mentally and emotionally revitalised, restored and ready to embark on to your next chapter with vitality.

You will stay in boutique cottage accommodation surrounded by stunning views of the Yorkshire countryside and the retreat is fully-catered with delicious, wholesome vegan cuisine. During your free time you will have given access to the pool suite and there are a variety of optional therapies offered at the centre such as Pregnancy Massage, Mizan Therapy and Reflexology to name a few.

What is Pregnancy Yoga

Pregnancy Yoga allows you to bond with your unborn baby and helps you to understand and manage the physical and emotional changes you are experiencing throughout your unique journey to motherhood. The bespoke practises offered as part of this retreat are designed with the changes you may experience during pregnancy in mind, offering tailored movements to help you build strength and stamina for your labour and ease out pregnancy related tension. The practises will also help you to develop breathing techniques for the birth of your baby and to bring about a relaxed state of mind with ease. On an emotional level, the practises will prepare your mind and spirit for the birth and help you to have an empowered birthing experience. Here is a list of some of the effects you will benefit from by practising Pregnancy Yoga:

Increases energy levels

Decreases anxiety

Strengthens birthing muscles

Improves sleep

Reduces back ache
Improves circulation

Encourages postnatal recovery

At the end of the retreat you will be given a basic Pregnancy Yoga sequence, which you will have become familiar with during the practises, to use at home.

What is Hypnobirthing

Hypnobirthing is an effective birth preparation method that teaches simple yet powerful self-hypnosis, relaxation, visualisation and breathing techniques, for a positive birth experience. At the end of the retreat you will be given access to a Hypnobirthing recording to use up to and during labour and you will be given a Hypnobirthing script for birthing partners to use.

About Cristal

Cristal has practised Yoga for over 15-years and specialises in teaching Yoga for women including Pregnancy and Postnatal Yoga. She has spent time in India studying the traditional approach to Hatha Yoga and her mission is to translate the traditional teachings into accessible practises for everyone in-order to achieve their happiness.

As a lifelong learner she continues to practise with many esteemed teachers within the yoga community. Her aim as a Pregnancy Yoga teacher is to put women at ease with their changing bodies and the transition into motherhood. Having recently become a mother for the first time, Cristal understands the value of having the tools to deal with the physical and emotional changes you can experience during pregnancy and those early days as a new mum. Cristal’s intention is to enable pregnant women to feel empowered on their journey, particularly during labour and birth, by encouraging them to recognise the deep, innate omnipotence they possess as women.

Cristal is also trained to offer Yoga Nidra or Yogic Sleep — a form of deep relaxation that can have profound results for the management of a variety of behaviours and habits.

About Catharine

Catharine’s journey into health and wellness started more than 15-years ago in her role as a nurse practitioner in women’s health. Around this time after suffering back problems following her third pregnancy, Catharine began attending a Pilates class to strengthen postnatally. After experiencing the benefits first hand this ignited a passion within Catharine and she went on to train to teach Pilates. Catharine has been teaching this amazing system now for 12-years and is also qualified to teach pre and postnatal Pilates.

Catharine has since trained as a Yoga Teacher and has studied with a variety of internationally renowned teachers in India, Bali and New York. Catharine also offers Yoga for Pregnancy, Children and Yoga Nidra.

One of Catharine’s passions is teaching Restorative Yoga because of the much-needed opportunities for stillness and relaxation it offers. She passionately believes that everyone needs time-out from their busy lives to rest and restore. Catharine feels privileged to be able to hold the space for people and facilitate the letting go process that Restorative Yoga delivers.

The natural progression for Catharine working within the field of health and wellbeing for women was to train as a Clinical Hypnotherapist focussing solely on treating women and the practice of Hypnobirthing.
