Prenatal Partner Workshop
Pregnancy is a wonderfully intense and transformational time for women and their partners, however it’s not without its challenges. While the mother-to-be moves through the physical and emotional experience, their partner can sometimes feel left out – even though they too are experiencing the same excitement and fears inherent to the journey.
Type of Event
This workshop led by Filipa Alvarez is designed to create a relaxed and safe atmosphere where partners feel empowered and very much part of the whole experience. The focus will be on cultivating mutual trust and enhancing the connection both with each other and your baby, helping to build physical and emotional strength and confidence as you move together through pregnancy and prepare for the intimate experience of childbirth.
During the workshop you and your partner will be guided though a gentle practice of yoga postures that are beneficial during pregnancy with an emphasis on working in pairs. You will also learn gentle massage techniques for pregnancy and labour, movements and positions for birth; and invaluable relaxation/meditation techniques that can make the experience easier, more enjoyable and more comfortable for everyone.
Women at any stage of pregnancy and their birth partners (being the baby’s father, a partner, a friend, family member or a doula) are welcome to join this workshop. The registration fee of £35 is for two people (only one person needs to pre-register). No yoga experience necessary.
