In these Prenatal Yoga classes, you will learn breathing and focusing techniques that will help you to relax during pregnancy and childbirth. You will practice postures that will help to:
• Create more opening in the hips and abdominal region, which will help make space for your baby;
• Alleviate tension in the back, neck and shoulders;
• Create more openness in the chest; and
• Increase circulation to help prevent swelling in the feet and ankles.
As your body changes with pregnancy, so will your yoga practice. We will modify poses based on which trimester you are in and how your are feeling. Most importantly, this class will honor your mother's intuition, reinforce your body awareness and improve your ability to practice self care during pregnancy and into motherhood. This class is also appropriate for post natal students.
