Qigong Practices for Balance and Clarity
Qigong, meaning “cultivation of life force,” is a Chinese energy practice with roots in Daoist beliefs and traditions. Qigong works with gentle, breath-led movements, visualizations practices and meditation, all aimed at refining the qi, or life force. This workshop will present various forms of qigong practices that will help offer the potential for greater balance and clarity in the body and mind.

2:00 - 4:30 pm
After a basic introduction to qigong and its benefits, we will move through a highly experiential practice including visualizations (a key component of Daoist meditation practices), breathing techniques, and gentle movements that encourage healthy qi flow through the body’s organs and meridians. In qigong, it is believed that our mental and emotional states have a direct correlation to the flow of qi: if there is blockage or stagnation, or if our qi is deficient, we tend to feel groggy, confused, irritable and unfocused; likewise, if the qi is moving too quickly or excessive, we can feel like we’re running on adrenaline or hyperactive. Smooth, efficiently flowing qi – like a mountain stream – leads to feeling more clear, balanced, focused and at ease. The practices will be aimed at promoting balanced, clear flowing qi that can increase our vitality and help eliminate stagnation and deficiency.
This workshop will include gentle yet deep energetic practices. All levels are welcome.
