No yoga experience is necessary ~ class begins with meditation ~ deep relaxation in Shavasana, reclining in stillness ~

Experience deep relaxation & renewal with Relaxation & Yoga Nidra.
Yoga Nidra is a guided meditation process which explores achieving relaxation by diving into deeper levels of conscious awareness - relieving stress and tension, and relaxing the nervous system. Yoga Nidra cultivates a 'Salkalpa' or affirmation intention to access the subconscious mind and initiate transformation and healing and to achieve physical, mental and emotional relaxation states.

Yoga Nidra ('Yogic Sleep') is done relaxing in 'Savasana,' resting on the mat with blankets and pillows.

You will be guided through the process with soothing words & sounds, a chakra awareness and healing meditation & more.

Studies suggest that 1 Hour of Yoga Nidra is equal to 4 hours of sleep. Yoga Nidra can help those who practice reduce insomnia and stress and increase inner awareness and focus.

Yoga Nidra (yogic sleep) was developed by Sri Swami Satyananda Saraswati from his study of ancient Tantric texts. His methods for achieving Yoga Nidra's physical, mental and emotional relaxation states have inspired schools of yoga worldwide.

Wear comfortable clothing and be prepared to take a journey of self-awareness and experience deep relaxation on all levels of being. You may bring a pillow and blanket or use the studio's. Bring an eye-pillow if you have one! Or, get one here at Yoga by the Sea!
