Naomi's expertise will guide you to develop confidence and new understandings of places which intimidate us in our yoga practises.
This workshop would not be suitable for complete beginners and participants should be strong enough to practise a form of inversion : headstand, arm balance, handstand against a wall or free.

We all deal with feelings of fear, uncertainty, and vulnerability at some point in our lives and unfortunately most of us let those feelings dictate our actions somehow. On the mat this can manifest just about anywhere - going upside down, falling out of an inversion, entering a backbend or sitting in a deep hip opener. We’ve all felt it and it is the most liberating feeling when we’re able to chip away at and overcome the things that hold us back.

Allowing thoughts of fear to continue to have power over us keeps us firmly locked in the cycle of fear, anxiety, low self esteem and so on. The simple decision to actually try to do something about it coupled with some good technique is often enough to break certain patterns…but sometimes it is more complicated than that and we don’t know why we are afraid, where it comes from and what to do about it?

This workshop will help you break apart unhealthy and limiting patterns of fear based thinking which may have become reoccurring themes in your practice and life. You will learn safe and practical exit strategies to take you away from the wall for postures such as handstand, forearm balance, headstand.

We will also look at how fear as an emotion can manifest itself in more unusual ways in the body resulting in both physical and emotional tension. Therefore part of this workshop will focus on diaphragmatic breathing and the physical release of the psoas for optimum back bending and hip opening.

Be prepared to work playfully but also very deeply and right at your edge, You are guaranteed to leave this workshop feeling a greater sense of liberation & inner peace…and less of a scaredy cat.
