Gongs are useful in resolving emotional and physical dissonance. Magic happens when there is no separation between the gong, the player and the listener. Playing and listening to gongs is about spiritual, physical and emotional resolution – opening of doors and windows to the Universe, moving around energies, Universal energies – to enter a spiritual dimension. The Gong is a psycho-acoustic gateway to heightened states of awareness and consciousness. It is an ideal tool for stress reduction, stimulation of the glandular system, and to break up emotional blockages.

Deepening into our mindful yin yoga practice by focusing our attention inward, using our breath, Ujjayi breath (ocean breath), as our anchor or conscious deep breathing we will practice mindful gentle yin postures that offer a permissive, nourishing, yielding practice, whilst working on the deep tissues that need a gentle, long held poses to grow stronger, improving flexibility by releasing the connective tissues of the body including the tendons, fascia, and ligaments, even joints of the bones generally in the hips, pelvis and lower spine. Welcoming awareness of the subtler sensations this gentle yin yoga and gong bath practice can offer.

Using gentle yin and the gong to unblock energy channels and offer a deep release and sense of letting go.

Cultivating harmony and peace, a deeper sense of balance and feelings of calmness and a sense of well-being.

This gentle yin yoga workshop will offer a slow-paced, meditative style of yoga with postures held for longer periods of time for 3 to 5 minutes.

The Gong, when skill-fully played, gongs stimulate and resonate all cells in the human body simultaneously and recalibrate the parasympathetic nervous system (heavy arms and legs as well as a regulated heart rate during a gong meditation are a sign of the re-calibration).

The Gong generates powerful multi-dimensional ripples of sound that grow into waves and bathe your entire body in streams of sound. These have been described as otherworldly, rhythmic, generating a sense of being on vacation, unfathomable, purifying, magical, sweet – like rich, rich chocolate cake, profound, out of body, celestial and harmonic…just to name a few.

The first 2 hours will be dedicated to gentle yin poses with sound healing and the last half an hour will be completely dedicated to a Gong Sound Bath meditation emersion.
