Full Description

In this Level 1 Teacher Training, participants will learn how asana, the nervous system and the body’s subtle energies connect to Restorative Yoga and deep relaxation. Throughout the training, you will learn how to help your students and clients cultivate a lasting experience of healing, health, and wellness, whatever their conditions.

The Therapeutic effect of Restorative Yoga allows this practice to be offered to anyone. Students with regular yoga, exercise and other fitness routines or those who are navigating minor or serious terminal and nonterminal illnesses and injuries can all enjoy the benefits of Restorative Yoga.

Through practice and hands-on application, you will gain a clear understanding of the power that lies within the Restorative Yoga Poses and how they create and nurture a sense of balance, harmony, inner quiet, healing and renewal. Trainees will develop and practice skills to create transformational relaxation through the use of props, environmental sound, and verbal guidance.

All categories of asanas will be practiced and demonstrated - forward, side and backbends, twists and inversions. Poses will be adapted into a Restorative methodology through the use of props: bolsters, blankets, straps and blocks.

Your completion of this course will allow you the ability to create, guide and practice a Restorative practice for yourself and others. It is highly recommended for students to complete Level 2 to further your education and experience, especially if working in a therapeutic environment or with injured or ill students.
