This Restorative Yoga session is to give you the opportunity to learn how to set up key restorative yoga poses for yourself with guidance and support, so that you can also do them at home.
Restorative Yoga is the art of deep rest and rejuvenation. The body is supported with props in a variety of positions with minimal stretch, no muscular effort, and poses are held for at least 5-10 minutes. The body can rest and release into the support, allowing for full relaxed breathing. This creates a healing, rejuvenating state for the body. It is wonderful complement to active movement like dynamic yoga or sports. It is an art that takes time and practice to refine, as the benefits are really felt when the small details of the pose are set up to be just right for your particular needs.
The class is small with plenty of support, and with interesting information about the nervous system, some gentle yoga movement and breathing exercises in the mix. You will leave feeling calm, with your batteries recharged.
