" The antidote to stress is relaxation. To relax is to rest deeply. Relaxation is a state in which there is no movement, no effort, and the brain is quiet." Judith Hanson Lasater.
Regardless of whether you think you are stressed or anxious we all hold patterns of tension in our bodies just through the pressure of modern day living leaving us physically and emotionally exhausted. Emotional imbalance can often surface as achy backs, headaches, irritation, indigestion, frequent sickness, low self esteem. The practice of restorative yoga helps us to observe these patterns while in a state of relaxation which means we can restore the negative patterns and calm our nervous system.
How do we do this?
In this workshop we will practice a series of yoga postures using props such as yoga blocks, bolsters and blankets to support the body. We will learn some special breathing techniques to help calm the mind and invigorate a sluggish one and gain practical suggestions that can be used at home if you only have 5 minutes.
