Type of Event
This Restorative Yoga Workshop is an opportunity to truly nourish your whole self, physiologically, emotionally and mentally. With Mindful awareness of the body and breathing this workshop is like a meditation. Props are used to give support in the postures so that you can rest and relax. A sequence of heart opening supine postures, and quietening forward bends can be deeply soothing. With precision and alignment in the postures the body opens and the energy flows. You will also experience the foundation of yogic breathing called Pranayama.
According to Mary Pullig Shatz (Author of Back Care Basics) Restorative yoga postures producing the “relaxation response” and counteract the negative effects of the “stress response” on the immune system. Their calming and nurturing effects are especially beneficial during times of stress, fatigue, emotional instability or low energy.
