Karen Bennett is a fully qualified and experienced yoga teacher and massage therapist. She is also a trained nurse, wife and mother. Karen loves all things creative and is a traveler and adventurer by heart. She loves exploring her environment on foot and swimming or SUPing in the mornings when the sea is like a mirror. Karen first started practicing yoga in 1996 and began teaching in 2005 after completing a 200hr Yoga Teacher Training (Yoga Alliance) at the The Life Centre in London. Her initial motivation to start practicing yoga came from wanting and needing to better manage stress and anxiety. Through the practice of yoga on a daily basis her life was transformed. This was what led her to want to teach, hoping to inspire others to find the holistic teachings, benefits and joys of yoga.
Karen's teaching style is rooted in flow yoga and restorative yoga and her classes are delivered in a friendly and accessible manner. With a background in bodywork and nursing her classes also draw on these influences.
Classes incorporate alignment focused asana (postures), pranayama (breath control), meditation and yoga nidra (deep relaxation). Modifications & progressions are always offered.

He gives private and group cooking lessons and seminars on the macrobiotic diet focusing on each individual’s needs and prepares macrobiotic menu suggestions for restaurants. He is a member of the team introducing and promoting the macrobiotic nutrition and philosophy in Greece through seminars, lectures and macrobiotic products. And we are lucky enough to have him at our retreat! He’ll open your eyes to a new belief in how to nourish your body and mind! For one of our meals, we’ll be heading out to a local taverna where we’ll feast on the local Greek cuisine and soak up the relaxed cheerful atmosphere. ALL the food provided by us for the week is included in the price of the retreat. Tea and coffee is also provided in the rooms in the price of the retreat. Alcohol is of course permitted, it is your holiday after-all, however we will only provide a glass of wine with the lunch out so as not to tempt you if you would prefer not to at other times.
The daily schedule for the retreat will typically involve: a morning miso soup to get your system ready for the day, followed by a flow yoga practice focusing on awakening the body and mind. Brunch will then be served and then after you’ve had an hour or two to rest, digest and soak in the morning rays, or go for a morning walk in the stunning valley, we’ll offer massage treatments to help you unwind and relax. You’ll have time for your afternoon snack and then we’ll run a pilates class to help to realign and stabilise. Evenings will consist of either yin yoga or slow flow yoga followed by yoga nidra and then we’ll all come together for a lovely evening meal in our unique dining area.
The week also includes a walk in the valley with the wonderful Aris who will astound you will all his knowledge of the local herb and wildlife, he will then bring us back to the Villas where we will learn how to use the herbs in more detail and make a special tincture to take home.
If this sounds like too much…no problem, you can do as many or as few sessions as you like. Maybe it’s not enough…we’ll be on hand for additional 1-2-1 sessions to help you get the most out of your practice.
