Full Description

The world-famous Rocket Series was created by Larry Schultz, who was looking for a way to make the practice of Ashtanga accessible to a Western practitioner. Larry’s system was informed by over nine years of dedicated Ashtanga practice with his teacher, Sri K. Pattabhi Jois, the founder of Ashtanga Yoga. The routines are intelligently structured to open the body in a natural way and work through the joints systematically. While the series take on a new form, they retain the same core principles of Ashtanga- breath, bandhas and drishti. Inside of the Rocket routines, you will find a template, a core sequence, that always exists.
Traditionally in Ashtanga, you progress in a linear fashion, receiving poses as your teacher allows them. The Rocket takes away the hierarchy of this system and empowers practitioners of all levels with access to postures found in the more advanced Ashtanga series.

Amber Gean comes from Cincinnati Ohio, where she runs her Yoga studio teaching a 6-days-a-week Rocket practice. She was one of Larry Scultz’s most dedicated students, studying with him from May 2000 to February 2011, when he left his body. She has been practicing Rocket and Ashtanga daily for years, and assisted Larry Schultz in the Rocket Yoga Teacher Training.

This 5-day training will provide you with the foundation to begin to instruct Rocket Yoga. It offers 40 hours towards your 60 hour Rocket certificate. The remaining 20 hours are to be completed on your own, through self practice, self study and experience in teaching. You will learn:

Rocket Level II: Follows the Ashtanga 2nd Series
Rocket Level III: Brings the I and II together for an invigorating 90 poses in 90 minutes
