Designed specifically for yoga teachers, yoga teacher trainees and anyone with a serious interest in exploring their practice more deeply. The Scaravelli yoga immersion courses are an exclusive opportunity to explore teaching yoga as inspired by the work of Vanda Scaravelli.
This approach to yoga is unique and challenging – both to practice, and to teach. Each day we’ll look at a different aspect, so that you leave with clear, logical ideas and suggestions on how to work and teach, a fresh way of looking at the body and the postures, and inspiration for your teaching and practice.
We will look at Vanda Scaravelli’s thoughts on yoga, and explore how we can use her teachings to inspire us on our path – in yoga, and in life.
The course, which Catherine first taught in 2009, is fully residential, and is held at Gayles Retreat for both: a simple and beautiful retreat centre, set deep in the heart of the countryside on the East Sussex coast, and just a short walk from the beach.
During each session, we will examine and unravel our experiences, discovering and revealing new skills and a deeper understanding of our bodies, and, ultimately, ourselves. Join this course to:
deepen your understanding of anatomy and structural relationships, the mechanics of movement and breath.
discover a fresh, modern approach to yoga that will radically transform your practice and teaching.
incorporate and relate Krishnamurti’s teachings into yoga.
learn ways to remove undue effort and tension, and help restore the body’s natural health, vitality and energy.
Jake Poller will help us understand the teachings of Krishnamurti, the philosopher, who was Vanda's friend and mentor, and inspired much of her approach to yoga.
Gary Carter is joining us to help unravel the intricacies of our anatomy, and relate it to our own felt sense of movement and specifically yoga practice.
