Scaravelli Inspired Yoga Immersion Course
Vanda Scaravelli focused on three main elements in practice: the pull of gravity, the breath, and the resulting response in the spine. This course will focus on developing our own authentic approach to practice, with attention to all these areas, and particularly to the first of these: grounding, and releasing into gravity.

Designed specifically for yoga teachers, yoga teacher trainees and anyone with a serious interest in exploring their practice more deeply. The Scaravelli yoga immersion courses are an exclusive opportunity to explore teaching yoga as inspired by the work of Vanda Scaravelli.
This approach to yoga is unique and challenging – both to practice, and to teach. Each day we’ll look at a different aspect, so that you leave with clear, logical ideas and suggestions on how to work and teach, a fresh way of looking at the body and the postures, and inspiration for your teaching and practice.
We will look at Vanda Scaravelli’s thoughts on yoga, and explore how we can use her teachings to inspire us on our path – in yoga, and in life.
The course, which Catherine first taught in 2009, is fully residential, and is held at Gayles Retreat, a simple and beautiful retreat centre, set deep in the heart of the countryside on the East Sussex coast, and just a short walk from the beach.
During each session, we will examine and unravel our experiences, discovering and revealing new skills and a deeper understanding of our bodies, and, ultimately, ourselves. Join this course to:
Discover a clearer understanding of the principles of this approach to yoga, with specific focus on Grounding, Gravity and Releasing Into The Earth
Deepen your knowledge of anatomy and structural relationships
Understand and explore the mechanics of breath and the spine
Develop fresh subtle approaches to adjusting / assisting your students
Refresh and reinvigorate your own personal practice and teaching
Gary Carter is joining us to help unravel the intricacies of our anatomy, and relate it to our own felt sense of movement and specifically yoga practice.
