Set Your Direction for 2015
Many of us fail to keep New Year resolutions because we start from a place of not feeling good enough, needing to be something other than who we are. Yoga philosophy teaches us to start where we are, with who we are, and celebrate our potential. We'll explore our inner voice in meditation and breathing and set an intention, or sankalpa, for yoga practice.

The aim of this session is to show you the practice of finding and setting your intention. We'll use our breath to help still the mind, in order to hear the voice of our inner desire. If you already have a NY resolution in mind, this can help lead you deeper into the 'why' behind the want to 'get fit' or 'lose weight'. A sankalpa won't be a 'want' or an 'I will', but more likely 'I am'.
Don't worry if you don't immediately come up with your resolve. For many of us this practice of stilling the mind, and listening to our inner voice takes time. For the purposes of practice you will be invited to choose a simple intention from suggestions if you don't have one of your own. We then take time to relax in a guided meditation where we plant the seed of our intention. At the end of the session you'll feel relaxed, refreshed and will have the tools to practice in your own time.
