Restorative yoga postures are designed to support the body to encourage the nervous system to rebalance. When we push hard to get things done, to care for others (instead of ourselves!) overwork and worry our nervous system can get stuck in the stress response. These poses restore the body's ability to let go of the stress and rebalance. This leads to better digestion, elimination and sleep just to name a few!
