Join Mona for our Summer Shakti Circle where we’ll be celebrating Midsummer and a New Moon! Traditionally Midsummer is a time of celebrating and honouring the strength, energy and power of the sun and the fire element. So in this special Midsummer Shakti Circle we’ll be honouring the Fire Element with Sounds (mantra) and Gestures (mudra) to deepen our connection. We’ll be practicing yoga sequences manifesting creative expression and finishing with a delicious Yoga Nidra practice, nourishing the deep pulse of creative energy.
Shakti Yoga is a nurturing, enlivening, and therapeutic yoga practice designed for women’s’ bodies to honour and nourish the cyclical nature of our lives. The practices shared in this session nurture the experiences of our female life cycle and can support healthy menstruation, fertility, pregnancy, postnatal healing, peri-menopause, menopause and beyond.
During this session, we will explore gentle but powerful Yoga sequences that honour us as women and open us up to experience more joy and fluidity in our bodies. We will also practice breathing exercises, meditation, and deeply nurturing Yoga Nidra.
Within each gathering there is also the opportunity to share and learn from the collective wisdom of the women present, as we finish with tea and time to soak in the experience of the practices.
Sharing is always optional and it is always ok just to listen, rest and be inspired. Gathering with women in circles is an important source of nourishment and support, but has largely become lost in our society. We hope to reclaim a little of this through our Shakti yoga circle.
