SmartFlow Workshop #3 - Backbending & Twists
SmartFlow Workshop #3 in a series of 6 workshops. Each workshop is designed around a thematic of how the body moves & functions. The 3rd workshop is on front body opening, so we will be focused on back bending & twisting.

Workshop finishes at 12:30 followed by tea & snacks for those who can stay!
This workshop will focus on opening the front body so we will be working on back bending & twists.
The workshop will include:
- pranayama (deep breathing exercises) to prepare the mind & body for asana practise. pranayama will increase circulation to the whole body & expand our lungs teaching us to use the lungs to their full capacity.

- Satsang (Sanskrit सत्सङ्ग sat = true, sanga = company) in Indian philosophy means (1) the company of the "highest truth," (2) the company of a guru, or (3) company with an assembly of persons who listen to, talk about, and assimilate the truth. This typically involves listening to or reading scriptures, reflecting on, discussing and assimilating their meaning,meditating on the source of these words, and bringing their meaning into one’s daily life. We will continue the study of Patanjali's 8 limbs of yoga finishing with the Yamas (Yama (Sanskrit) यम, means self-restraint, self-control and discipline. The yamas comprise the "shall-not" in our dealings with the external world.) And we will begin learning of the 2nd limb the NiYamas ( (Sanskrit: नियम niyama, "obligation", "observance", "rule", "restriction". The NiYamas comprise the 'shall-dos' in our dealings with ourselves. The meaning of AUM (OM).
- yoga nidra - systematic relaxation of body, mind & heart.
