Here is some info about the workshop host Belinda Leigh Gordon and co hosts Terri Stephen and Lisa Forrest.

After a fall off a horse it was discovered that I had congenital scoliosis (curvature of the spine). I consequently suffered from chronic back pain throughout my adolescence. This was a blessing though because it led me to my wonderful and exciting Yogic journey. After regular Yoga practice from the age of 22, my back became stronger, I felt more aligned physically and emotionally and my back pain thankfully became a thing of the past. I went on to study Yoga and qualified as a certified Yoga Instructor in 1997 after studying Hatha Yoga for three years at the renowned Young Yoga Institute in South Africa, which was founded by Winnie Young who studied directly under BKS Iyengar in India. Many of you may know that he was the founder of the style of yoga known as "Iyengar Yoga" and is considered one of the foremost yoga teachers in the world. I was then ready to take weekly classes that I had organised and managed myself and also took regular pregnancy Yoga sessions at the Active Birth Centre in Durban.

I relocated to Scotland in 2001 with my family and have continued to dedicate my teaching life to help others. I started my Scottish journey by taking weekly yoga classes, on a freelance basis, at David Lloyd and Bannatyne health centres. I then progressed to the corporate level and now take various weekly classes at legal firms, Shepherd & Wedderburn, DWF and Aderdein Considine, and at Chalmers Sexual Health centre and the IGMM Western General Hospital. I also take weekly classes in our local village and various 1:1 private remedial sessions.

I am proud to say I’ve been teaching as a certified Yoga Instructor for 22 years!

Come join me on my Yogic journey.
Om shanti shanti 🙏

I was introduced to yoga at a young age, attending classes with my mother when I was around 7 years old. Since then I have been practicing many forms of yoga and in 2018 obtained a 200-hour yoga teacher training certificate in India.

I have a PhD in neuroscience and am currently researching Alzheimer’s disease in California. During my spare time I teach vinyasa and ashtanga classes with a focus on power and core strength.

Hello, My Name is Lisa Forrest. I’m from Edinburgh Scotland.
I’ve reached 40 this year and as they say life
I have been practicing yoga for almost eight years I have been immersed in Iyengar, Hatha and Restorative Yoga with the most amazing teachers I’m eternally grateful to them all.
I love to work with Yoga and ailments as they are also a great interest to me. I love a wee workshop or retreat too.
I’m very interested in Thai Yoga Massage and hope to delve deeper into this in the future.
I started my Yoga journey when I was very over weight, pretty vulnerable, I was in a sad place really and had never even thought of health or well being. But I have my daughter Mia and I knew they best thing I could do was be the best version of myself and set good examples for her, it was time for change!.

Fast forward eight years and here I am!, connected! more confident more grounded more flexible more mindful more healthy and I’m oh and I can breathe! I’m so grateful my path took me to that first class.
I’m fulfilling my dream to be a Yoga Teacher and currently doing my Teacher Training Diploma with Yoga Scotland. I’m enjoying this so much and teach a Teen Yoga Class in my community. I love that Yoga is not all about Asana but brings people and communities together. I believe everyone can do yoga and everyone can find their breath.
