Asana Practise - developing your own practise while learning to teach - key Asana postures - standing poses; forward bends; backbends; twists & inversion; pranayamas, & bhandas, kriyas, chanting mantras, mudras, the various forms of meditations.
Art of Teaching - Positive communication skills; time management; respectful boundaries; specific & special needs; alignments & adjustments; demonstrating; teaching styles; qualities of a teacher; business aspects; creating a sequence of asanas for a vinyasa class.
Anatomy & Physiology - Yoga as a Therapy - basic study in asana practise; benefits and contraindications of asanas; special needs & injuries. Chakras & Nadis - Energy. Intro to Ayurveda .
Yoga Philosophy - in depth study of the 8 Limbs of Yoga, integrating this as a Yogic lifestyle; Patanjali Sutras; Hatha Yoga Pradipika; Tantra Philosophy; History of Yoga.
Practice teaching Yoga - confidently to groups.
