TEEN EMPOWERMENT WORKSHOP
I believe being healthy physically and mentally should begin as early as possible. Having two teenage daughters myself, I know how important it is to begin implementing daily routines to nurture the body, mind, and soul.
Based on Ayurveda principles, which is balancing mind and body with nature, we will begin with an open discussion regarding the importance of taking care of ourselves, body image, nutrition, and staying positive and self-love. There will be some tips given for daily routines that teens can implement in their own lives. We will then practice yoga, focusing on breath, building self-esteem, confidence, and learn how to maintain clarity of the mind to enable teens to effectively handle major stressors that they may encounter in their lives, such as, preparing for tests, how to handle peer pressures, relationships, encouraging teens to stay positive, and that it’s okay to just be yourself and let your inner light shine. We will close our practice with a candle-gazing meditation as a tool to help keep the mind sharp and focused and as a symbolization of our inner shining light
