This workshop will introduce pranayama, the art of breathing. Pranayama is an essential yogic technique that has numerous health benefits, and teaches us how to cope with stress and emotions through the control of our breath. For a proper yoga practice, it is essential not to practice only asanas (yogic positions) but also pranayama. Pranayama is not only very helpful for our asana practice, but most importantly it is a powerful tool to be used for our personal development and realisation of our true potential. It is also a beautiful art of concentration leading to the state of meditation.
In this workshop, we will explain the importance of pranayama, why it is such a valuable tool not only for our yoga practice, but also for our life. We will try several pranayamic techniques ( full yogic breath, nadi shodana, kapalabhati, bramari, shitali/shitakari) and learn useful practical tips how to practice it on our own anywhere we go. If you would like to delve deeper into the practice of pranayama, you can continue to develop your personal practice in our regular pranayama classes.
To conclude the workshop in a nice friendly manner, we invite you to join us for a coffee/smoothie/veggie salads in the cafe upstairs where you will have the possibility to ask any yoga related questions you may have, enjoy the discussion and perhaps make some new friends too :-)
