Type of Event
This workshop will start with an introduction to the methods and benefits of the yogic Art of Restoring mind, body and soul. Restorative Yoga is a fundamental tool to master in today's society to balance our stressful and hectic modern lifestyles. The workshop will guide you through a well-rounded restorative sequence that will open with a taste of yoga philosophy and pranayama (breathing techniques), moving into restorative asana poses that use props and that are held for longer periods of time to support and allow the physical body to release completely and the mind to calm. To achieve this state of stillness, introspection and deep rest, visualizations, scents, physical touch and music will be incorporated. The sequence will end with a short restorative meditation.
Whether you are curious about restorative techniques for rest and relaxation or for healing, you will experience a deep release and insight that is not often attainable in quicker-paced yoga classes. Restorative yoga emphasizes the calming of the nervous system and teaches the art of physical relaxation, which has tremendous emotional and physical benefits. You will leave feeling refreshed and fully restored and you will have learned techniques that can be integrated into the busiest of schedules. The workshop will conclude with time for Q & A and is open to all levels.
