About the Retreat
A wonderful opportunity to take time out at the end of the year, this retreat provides a nurturing and healing environment, giving you time and space to unwind and focus on yourself and your yoga practice.

This retreat is open to everyone, offering a solid foundation for newer students beginning yoga, and refinement and depth to students with an established practice.

Twice daily yoga sessions will form the heart of the retreat, and you will instantly feel at ease in the fun and uplifting classes. Daily classes will be fully instructed as we work together intelligently with the body, to guide you through Ashtanga Vinyasa and Pranayama (Controlled Breathing), with the option of Mysore (self practice) later in the week. Along with clear and detailed instruction, the personalized teaching approach will support your individual needs. The afternoon sessions will allow time for discussion, Q&A and a relaxing restorative yoga class to close the day.

There will also be plenty of free time to take advantage of the healing spa & wellness treatments or simply enjoy the beautiful surroundings and relax by the pool.

A perfect way to take some breathing space at the end the year, leaving you relaxed, clear and present.

About the Teachers:

Paul Chambers infuses his life and teaching with devotion to yoga, gratitude and love.

Paul teaches from direct experience in his own practice, giving clear and focused instruction to students whilst still encouraging exploration of the poses and the nature of breath. His classes are fun and uplifting; working intelligently with the body to safely guide his students through yoga Asana and Pranayama (Controlled Breathing). Paul translates the awareness of breath and movement into a graceful and transformative experience for his students.

Alison Ritchie is passionate about life and yoga and believes that yoga should be accessible to everyone, regardless of age, flexibility or body condition.

With a positive and friendly teaching style, Alison teaches asana and pranayama from the heart, drawing on her own direct experience of dedicated practice. With the ability to put across both technical and subtle points in a simple and easy-going manner, Alison supports each student, ensuring they get the most they can out of each class. Alison creates a nurturing atmosphere in her classes, using a combination of theory and practice, plus her Scottish sense of humor to keep the classes refreshing and light!

Now based in Cairns, Queensland, Alison is originally from Scotland and has been living in Australia for the last 13 years. Alison runs Soul Train Yoga at The Tanks Arts Centre in the middle of the tropical Botanic Gardens in Cairns. Having studied many aspects of the meditative art and science of yoga over the years, her main teacher is Paul Dallaghan, where she continues to study each year.

I wanted to send you a note to let you know how much I enjoy coming to your classes. You make it so easy and enjoyable. I never feel like I can’t do it or like I need to look, act or be a certain way. I feel good when I am at yoga. Thank you for that. I really enjoy the amazing quotes that you read too!
All the best,
∼ CD

My poor stiff body has had 30 years of hard court sport, plus all that sitting at a desk etc so needs some TLC! Thanks for your words of encouragement. I enjoyed your retreat and I am grateful for your patience and careful explanation of the techniques. Cheers,
∼ D

I love coming to your classes, you are such a positive teachers who know how to challenge me in a way that is safe for my body. The atmosphere in class is always positive and non-judgemental, the instructions are so clear I know my body is being looked after. When I first came to class I had almost no experience of Yoga. You both made me feel so welcome and worked with where I was at, never making me feel stupid or unco-ordinated. Even as a beginner I got so much out of the first class and went away feeling positive and energised. That feeling has continued over a year of classes that I still get that positive feeling and I have improved in my body and my mind… and definitely my spirit. Thank you guys for guiding me through my discovery of yoga. I feel so good after class and my flexibility, fitness and physical/mental wellbeing have all improved so much.
∼ Alex

I have been to a variety of yoga retreats in the last ten years and have found your retreats to be better balanced than others. The instruction is not intimidating, but at the end of a session I feel that I have had a good workout. I found the mix in your retreat a great way to relax and destress the mind.
