Full Description

Agama’s Therapeutic Yoga Teacher Training Course (TYTTC) is a rigorous 500-hour training program that combines exceptional practical knowledge and decades of experience with healing through Yoga. Yoga Therapy fully integrates perspectives from the wellness industry and mainstream medicine along with the spiritual foundations of Yoga addressing the higher planes of the being.
This course, which adheres to the strict educational and accreditation standards of the International Association of Yoga Therapists (IAYT), synthesizes a holistic and practical concept of wellness in the context of integrative Yoga Therapy. Through this training, participants become Yoga Therapy Teachers. Certification as a Yoga Therapist requires an additional 300 hours of study over two years. Please see our Yoga Therapy Certification page for more details.

The TYTTC prepares its participants to develop therapeutic Yoga programs for one-on-one or group sessions. The training received through the program enables graduates to work in complementary healthcare settings with the expertise to develop Yoga-based wellness programs targeting stress reduction, cardiac problems, emotional well-being, musculoskeletal conditions, and many other areas. Each participant’s private Yoga practice will be upgraded and diversified in the therapeutic domain, lending skills that are more and more frequently sought by therapists, healers, and other specialized medical professionals.

The TYTTC’s core training curriculum includes emphasis on:

Yoga foundations
Biomedical, anatomical, and psychological functions in the human being
Yoga Therapy in practice, including practicum training and program creation
Teaching and therapeutic skills necessary for the correct attitude and proper role of a Therapeutic Yoga Teacher
Participants will be guided throughout the program in training that includes special attention on the following subjects:

Stress reduction and stress-induced diseases
Maintaining good general health, with emphasis on the prevention of disease and degeneration and the promotion of remedies for harmonious aging
Emotional health, depression, panic attacks, and anxiety
Rehabilitation and addiction problems
Cardiovascular stress and high blood pressure
Some particularly difficult-to-treat pathological conditions such as:
Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) or related syndromes
Chronic fatigue, fibromyalgia
Multiple sclerosis
Spinal misalignments and joint problems
The side effects of chemotherapy or surgery
Complementary treatment of serious chronic diseases including cancer and AIDS
Plus many others
This intensive course is for anyone who has experienced the healing power of Yoga and natural therapies and wants to bring this magic to the world, sharing the ancient wisdom that facilitates restored health and enhanced vitality. Become a better therapist, a more-informed Yoga teacher, or broaden your expertise into healing for body, mind, and soul.
