Join us for an unforgettable time at Shri Kali Ashram on the beautiful island of Koh Phangan in Thailand.

You can come for 1 or 2 week retreat at anytime or participate in the 3 weeks 200 hour-Teacher Training Program (Yoga Alliance) that runs from 1-21. each month.

Full Description

All training is in English.
In January and February 2020, there will be additional mentoring and guiding done in Turkish and German.

You can stay either in a wooden hut or in one of the private rooms in the ashram building, all close by another, comfortable and clean with own bathroom.

The ashram offers a daily schedule from morning until evening (details below), however you will have enough free time to venture out and explore the island in between classes.

We are family-friendly, while you enjoy your classes we can organize for a care taker on-site. (Please let us know in advance)

8:00 Traditional Ayurvedic Walking Massage (exchange massage to prepare the body for āsanas)
9:00 Jala Netī Kriyā
9:15 Morning āsanas (a compact set of āsanas designed to integrate relaxation into life/Practicums mid-month)
10:30 Prāṇāyāma and/or Bandhas (to optimize your internal system)
12:00 Lunch and Interpersonal Communication (engage and grow in the community as you develop your abilities to honestly interact with others)
13:00 Rest and Study time (culture personal growth, study/relax and rejuvenate your whole system)
15:00 Tri-dosha balancing āsana series
19:00 Shower, Dinner, Social Development (participate freely in developing skills to interact honestly in the group dynamic setting)
20:00 Lecture, Satsang, Goddess worship/Puja, Sanskrit chanting/study

TEACHER TRAINING SCHEDULE (detailed):
* Yoga Alliance® 200hr Registered Yoga Teacher™
* Daily energy culturing āsana practice (balancing the doshas, vata/pitta/kapha)
* Regular prāṇāyāma, bandhas and vyāyāma (supportive practice) yoga classes
* Daily Āyurvedic walking massage instruction and guided practice (receiving and giving)
* Puja/goddess consecration: including tantric mantras, mudrās, offerings and meditation on your true nature as a reflection of the divine
* Introduction to Sanskrit: to familiarize yourself with the language system of Tantra and Yoga, which is foundational for Tantric meditation
* Lectures/Satsangs: covering many topics such as psychology and sociology (for teachers to understand their students and also understand their own personal growth with relevance to Tantra Yoga); spiritual cultures of the world; the modern understanding of tantra and yoga; traditional Tantric/Yogic philosophy (Trika, kuṇḍalinī, etc.), lifestyle and ethics, āsana theory, anatomy and physiology, and teaching methodology
* 3 weeks intensive study including 1 week practicum in the mornings and one weekly day off for rest
* Three healthy vegetarian meals per day
* Comfortable Accommodation (suitable for singles, couples, families, and children)

TRAVEL INFORMATION to Koh Phangan
Generally speaking, to reach Koh Phangan one needs a flight and a ferry, sometimes a bus as well, as Koh Phangan does not have an airport.

The easiest option is to book a flight directly to Koh Samui but it is not the cheapest one. From Koh Samui, it takes only 30 minutes by ferry to reach Koh Phangan.

Apart from Koh Samui, one can fly to Bangkok and Phuket
From Bangkok to Koh Phangan By Air:
Travelling by air will involve flight + shuttle to the pier + ferry to Koh Phangan.

The easiest and fastest option is to fly via Koh Samui.

Another option is to fly to Surat Thani. Surat Thani flights are cheaper but it will take a longer time to reach the pier from the airport (1-2 hours depending on the pier) and the ferry ride will be around 2.5 hours.

Bangkok has two airports: Suvarnabhumi (BKK) and Don Mueang (DMK).

Suvarnabhumi airport:
From there you can fly by Bangkok Airways to Koh Samui or Thai Smile to Surat Thani.

Don Mueang airport:
From there you can fly by Air Asia and Nok Air to Surat Thani.

Airport – Ferry:
It is very easy to get the ferry tickets. In Surat Thani and Koh Samui airports they are sold in the arrival hall.

When buying ferry tickets to Koh Phangan, please book the tickets to Thong Sala pier. It is the closest pier to the ashram. In both airports, ferry tickets are sold together with the shuttle bus from the airport to the pier. There is also an option to go to the pier by taxi.

Please do not rush to buy ferry tickets online, you can always get them at the counter in the airport. This will give you certain flexibility in case of flight delay, etc.

Koh Samui airport to Koh Phangan (Thong Sala pier) ferry:
Ticket costs around 400 - 450 THB.
Last ferry from Koh Samui to Koh Phangan is 17:30.
Last bus from the airport to the pier will leave at 16:30.

Surat Thani airport to Koh Phangan (Thong Sala pier) ferry:
Ticket costs around 500 - 800 THB.
Last ferry from Surat Thani to Koh Phangan is 18:00.
Last bus from the airport to the pier will leave at 16:00.

From Bangkok to Koh Phangan by bus:
Journey by bus takes approximately 12-15 hours.
Buses leave at 06:00 and at 20:00 and 21:00.
