Daily Schedule:

All yoga and meditation classes, nature walks and seminars are completely optional. This retreat is about taking care of YOU! If something doesn't feel good or you need to sleep or rest, we strongly encourage you to do so :)

Yoga Practice - Power Flow Yoga

Power Flow is our vinyasa style yoga, where movement and breath are connected, creating a dynamic flow. The focus is on breathing into each posture, calming the mind and focusing on each movement and how it feels in your body. It's a faster paced class, perfect for the morning to awaken and enliven the body after sleep.

Yoga Practice - Yin Yoga

Yin Yoga is a restorative style of yoga, focusing on softening into the body, melting away tension through longer held postures. Yin yoga works into the fascia, connective tissues, ligaments and joints of the body, encouraging you to surrender into each pose. Yin yoga is a quieter practice with a more internal focus.

Pranayama / Meditation / Savasana

Pranayama is the control and release of breath. 'Prana' is breath or vital energy in our body, 'yama' is to control, and 'ayama' is to release. With pranayama practice, you will learn how to breath consciously and fluidly, calming both body and mind.

Meditation is the art of slowing down the tumultous 'monkey mind'. Meditation can bring focus, clarity, emotional positivity and a true sense of calm to your being.

Savasana is a state of full relaxation for the body and mind. Savasana often occurs after asana practice where the body can completely relax, and integrate and prcoess everything the body and mind have learnt in asana.

Massage

Indulge yourself in a 30 minute upper body massage to soothe your body and mind. This is pure YOU time to relax and enjoy, allowing healing hands release built up stress and tension. True bliss!

Nature Walk

Amarant rests in 25 acres of beautiful rainforest. There are plenty of nature walks to experience, as well as a lookout, water springs, sacred spaces and other natural wonders to explore. Please wear only closed toe shoes for walking.

About the Amarant Retreat

Amarant Retreat is nestled on Mount Ben Cairn in the Yarra Ranges National Park, 70km north of Melbourne. Amarant Retreat was developed by Dr Hanna Cyncynatus, as a sacred place of spiritual wellness and growth. It is a beautiful place with gorgeous accomodation, spacious yoga room, open dining and alfresco areas as well as other various outdoor spaces.

Amarant Retreat is a strictly non-smoking environment.

Your Hosts:

CASEY

Casey started practicing yoga originally to assist with her dance training but soon fell in love with yoga all on its own. Having taught swimming and dance for years, transferring into teaching yoga was a natural progression. Casey loves to learn, and has completed her 500 hour Diploma of Yoga Teaching at the Australian Yoga Academy, has a Certificate of Vinyasa Teaching with Jenni-Morrison Jack, a certificate of Yin Yoga Training with Jo Phee, a Diploma in Life Coaching as well as a double degree in HR and Psychology. Casey is super passionate about movement, breath and the body, and you can sense the dancer in her flowing yoga sequences. Casey's classes are all about excellent technique and challenging yourself, then enjoying the release and peace that comes with a well-earned savasana or meditation at the end.

ROWIE

While Rowie is Melbourne born and bred, a part of her still calls Byron Bay home after living there in 2008/09. Rowie has done a bit of everything, from 200 hour ashtanga yoga and 300 hour advanced vinyasa flow (level 2), to the slower, stretchy yin teacher trainings. From the moment you walk into one of Rowie's classes, you will feel at ease. There is no bootcamp body shaming practice going on here, and you can sense that she doesn't take life too seriously. Rowie encourages students to have fun with their practice and go through the motions of being in or falling out of a pose with a laugh at the end. Rowie's hot and flow classes are strong, challenging and fluid, whilst her yin classes will leave you floating on a yin cloud, encouraging you to stop perhaps for the first time in your day, and find ease rather than struggle.
