Urban Mindfulness Retreat

Full Description

Mindfulness meditation is an age-old practice which produces research-proven health and wellness benefits. The good effects include regulation of mood, emotions and behavior; improved mental focus and attention; improved sleep, stress reduction; enhanced awareness of patterns of behavior and relationships. Meditators commonly report a greater sense of humor and improved resiliency in the face of life’s ups and downs.

Our retreat is an opportunity to learn and practice in a unique small-group setting, in a peaceful space amidst the bustle of the city, to support integration of mindfulness and meditation into the urban lifestyle. The setting is light-filled, top floor residential space in Cambridge.

After a brief introduction and instruction, participants will maintain silence for the duration of the retreat until a brief reintegration period, including question period, before closing. Retreat includes instruction and practice of sitting, walking and eating meditation; yogic breathwork instruction and practice, gentle yoga; a talk on how to apply mindfulness in working with life challenges, stress, mood issues, addiction and trauma symptoms. Participants will pause mid-day for a vegetarian silent lunch. Tea and light snacks will also be provided.
