We welcome you to join us, no matter what your background, experience or intention once you’ve completed the course. Our teaching program includes daily yoga practice, lectures, workshops, time to practice teaching skills and techniques, and adequate rest and relaxation. Unlike a local Yoga Teacher Training, where you go to classes and otherwise live in your normal surroundings (with the stress and responsibilities that come with it), this course is designed to be all-inclusive and immersive, so you can focus purely on your growth for the life-changing time you are in Thailand.


The key benefit of Yin Yoga is that it allows us to access the calm, quiet centre that lies within. Due to our busy, chaotic, stress-filled modern lives, stillness and patience are rarely practiced. So accessing this inner softness and kindness is not just a relief, but necessary for many, to balance our mind and body. Yin Yoga is a slower, more subtle, more meditative and introspective style of yoga. This change of pace allows us to tune-in to our thoughts and feelings more easily, going deeper into the mind than other faster paced styles and working with deeper layers within our body.

Yin Yoga has a big focus not only on the physical body but the subtle, energetic layers that we can’t see with the human eye. While there is a lot of attention placed on connective tissues, Yin Yoga also looks into our energy points and channels – bringing together traditional Hatha Yoga and Chinese Medicine. Yin Yoga examines in greater detail the mental aspects of yoga. Cultivation of stillness and the Buddhist concept of mindfulness, is one of the main intentions of a Yin Yoga practice. Practicing Yin Yoga alongside the more active, dynamic styles, will give you a more balanced level of health - yin in harmony with yang.


The 100 Hour Yin Yoga Teacher Training Course takes place at VIKASA Yoga Retreat on the tropical island of Koh Samui, in the Gulf of Thailand. It is said to be built upon a bed of rose quartz crystal, giving it a unique healing vibe, perfect for Yin Yoga. Koh Samui is a lush, green island and you’ll be surrounded by soothing plant-life such as coconut trees, banana leaves and the perfumed scent of frangipani flowers. You’re never far away from fine, white-sand beaches, clear azure ocean and breathtaking natural waterfalls set amidst thick jungle.


Alicia Casillas is a true Yin Yoga teacher. While some practitioners teach dynamic yang yoga with a bit of yin on the side, Alicia specializes in yin as the core of her teaching style. With her soft and soothing Spanish aura, Alicia has the perfect tonality for a relaxing yin session. But more importantly, what comes through in her voice and approach is her authenticity and her genuine care for her students. Her classes usually play to the sublime sound of singing bowls or beautiful ambient music. This helps her create a sacred space for her students to absorb her instruction. Alicia Has Been Practicing And Teaching Around North America, Europe And Asia For More Than 10 Years. She Is An Experienced And Certified Yoga Teacher (E-RYT 500) And A Continuing Education Provider With Yoga Alliance. In Her Impressive Professional Athlete-Turned-Yogi Career She Has Completed Over 300 Hours Of Trainings With Yin Yoga Master Sarah Powers, Tina Nance And Jamie Clarke. She Has Also Attended Several Anatomy And Physiology Trainings In Different Healing Modalities Such As Cranio-Sacral And Reiki. Her Range Of Expertise Gives Her Classes A Holistic Understanding Of The Body, Mind And Energy.
