From the hills of the Val d’Orcia to the Maremma coast, Tuscany is a paradise for walkers, cyclists, bon-vivants and art buffs alike. With Le Pianore as our base, we are perfectly poised to explore the many riches of this natural and cultural wonderland. Three excursions are included in the 8 day holiday:

Excursion 1
Hike from Agriturismo Le Pianore to Castello di Potentino for wine tasting and dinner in an exceptional setting. Picnic lunch in the hilltop village of Montegiovi.
(4,5 hours walking over the course of the day).

For more information on this family-run farm and castle and the gorgeous wines they produce:

Excursion 2
Visit the ancient Roman bath town of Bagno Vignoni overlooking the Val D’orcia. Soak in the restorative natural thermal spring waters and snack typical local deli produce before transferring back to Le Pianore.

Excursion 3
Listen to monks singing at the beautiful Romanesque Sant’Antimo Abbey before setting off on foot toward the biodynamic San Polino wine farm for an al fresco practice followed by a tasting of exceptional Rosso and Brunello di Montalcino. (2,5 hours walking)
Meet the winemakers and learn more about biodanymic farming:

Mara Guadagni graduated from Florence University in 2006. She continues to study cultural anthropology with a focus on Childhood Theater. She has been working since 2005 with the TeatrOsfera Company and GruppoAutoprod of Giovanni Carli. In 2010 she started her work as a performing arts resident clown at Meyer Hospital. She began practicing yoga in 2006 for theatre warm up until she found It's Yoga Florence and began to incorporate the Ashtanga system into her daily life. She completed her Yoga Alliance Certified Teaching Training program in 2011. She is now incorporating her background in childhood theatre and yoga to run the It’s Yoga Bambini Firenze program.

She teaches the Teacher Training courses at It’s Yoga Firenze (in both the English and Italian programmes) and co-facilitates the It's Yoga Gran Canaria and It's Yoga Helsinki Teacher trainings.

Mara plans yoga retreats from the north to the south of Italy and runs training workshops for teachers of yoga for kids.
She loves:
to be upside down, the sea, fresh flowers,
nature, knowledge of ancient peoples, to love, to leave everything behind
the smell of books , fairy tales, creativity, food, tea, dancing,
red shoes, teaching, an unexpected caress, poems,
imperfection, the wind, to learn
to breathe, to live ….

In 1999 I went to Mexico, in love with a boy. Some months later l went home without the boy, but in love with the practice of yoga. Since that first Sun Salute on the beach in Tulum, yoga in many forms and styles has been a consistent source of joy, fascination and focus.

Several countries (South Africa, France, Italy), years of study (at the University of Cape Town, Sciences-Po Paris, Istituto Marangoni) and a string of professions later, yoga has remained the one constant in my life. It is a transformational journey with and into myself, and after twelve years of personal practice I committed to sharing this experience as a yoga teacher.

Much like the practice, the process of teaching is exhilarating and humbling, requires both spontaneity and self discipline, playfulness and mindfulness, passion and compassion.

I now live and teach in Tuscany where I have the privilege of sharing the practice with inspiring fellow teachers and students at the Le Pianore estate, throughout the year.
